would love to see peoples reply to this ...our goats broke and ate some of the hay manger we made so we have made a tempory one in the pens by putting a plank across the corners and using chicken wire to make the nest in the corners...it works ok... but they always manage to make some larger holes in.....in the paddock we just put a loose pile of hay in their shelter which we leave open for them...they seem happy with that one at least _________________ goats have attitude and know how to use it!!

I was hoping that someone would reply to this question. I have tried most things as hay racks and they always get destroyed by the goats or eaten by them!!!
At the moment the hay gets stacked up on the floor for them, but I get upset by the amount of waste hay. I think I am going to have to look into this subject myself and come up with some goat-proof ideas.
we had some made by a freind they were the corner hay racks we then got some thicker wire that runs along the top of the fences and weaved it in and out to make the holes smaller ,a freind has wooden boarding at the bottom of theirs to colect all the loose hay so they can reuse it for either the goats or every couple of days the cows
